Uma pesquisa da Universidade do Texas mostrou que metade dos homens perdoaria facilmente a infidelidade de suas parceiras, contanto que o ato de traição tenha sido realizado com outra mulher. Os pesquisadores pediram a 718 estudantes universitários que imaginassem estar em um relacionamento de longo prazo e que relatassem suas reacções em vários cenários diferentes.

Eles descobriram que cerca de 50% dos homens continuariam um relacionamento com uma mulher que teve um caso com outra mulher, enquanto apenas 22% dos homens disseram que perdoariam caso a traição fosse com outro homem.

A University of Texas showed that half of men easily forgive the infidelity of their partners, provided that the act of betrayal has been carried out with another woman. The researchers asked 718 college students to imagine being in a long term relationship and who reported their reactions in many different scenarios.

They found that about 50% of men would continue a relationship with a woman who had an affair with another woman, while only 22% of men said they forgive the treason case was with another man.
