Disse um neurologista que se levarem uma vítima de derrame dentro das primeiras três horas, ele pode reverter os efeitos do derrame – totalmente. Ele disse que o segredo é reconhecer o derrame, diagnosticá-lo e receber o tratamento médico correspondente, dentro das três horas seguintes, o que é difícil.
RECONHECENDO UM DERRAME

R* (Rise your arms) Peça-lhe que levante AMBOS OS BRAÇOS.
Se ele ou ela têm algum problema em realizar QUALQUER destas tarefas, chame a emergência imediatamente e descreva-lhe os sintomas, ou vão rápido à clínica ou hospital.
Novo Sinal de derrame – Ponha a língua fora.
Peça à pessoa que ponha a língua para fora.. Se a língua estiver torcida e sair por um lado ou por outro, é também sinal de derrame.
