 Thinking about sex makes you smarter

Investigadores da Universidade de Amesterdão (na Holanda), juntou um grupo de voluntários, homens e mulheres, a pensarem em sexo. Depois, colocaram-nos todos a resolver problemas de lógica e matemática. E, surpresa, o desempenho dos que estavam com ideias “pecaminosas” na cabeça foi melhor.

É que, segundo os cientistas, quando pensamos em sexo, o nosso cérebro activa uma área “projectada” pela evolução para nos ajudar a reproduzir-se. Daí em diante, começamos a prestar mais atenção nas outras pessoas, a achá-las especialmente atraentes, a tentar identificar sinais de interesse sexual …

Estas mudanças mentais, que acontecem naturalmente para favorecer a reprodução, intensificam a nossa atenção e o nosso foco nos detalhes, o que deixa a percepção mais afiada e acaba por favorecer também o raciocínio, explica o estudo.
