A boy of two years, yesterday saved the grandfather, 63, who fell eight meters with a mine while walking in a forest area. The unbelievable story happened in California. The accident could have been fatal if the child had left for help.
Grandfather and grandson decided to take a stroll through the neighborhood instead of the New Bridge, in the parish of Lomar, Braga. In the middle of the woods, Jose Rocha, 63, was eventually caught by the subsidence of the soil, eventually falling into a mine with eight feet tall.
Little Jose Barbosa, who is only three years in February, managed to avoid falling into the mine and seeing the state of the grandfather to leave immediately for help. I was a mile away from his grandfather's house.
Undaunted by the coolness of the forest, climbed a fence and headed toward the National Road 309 (EN309), near the accident site. After having walked half a kilometer walk alone by the road, "Dewey", as is known, has sparked the attention of a motorist who at the time spent on Rua do Souto Noval, which serves as access to EN 309.
"My grandfather is in a hole," he yelled repeatedly. The woman, whose identity was not possible to ascertain that followed the indications of the child, which led to neighbors and relatives of Joseph Rock, who was no reaction after falling eight feet on the narrow mine.
"He only said that his grandfather was a hole and pointed to the mountain," said the Jornal de Noticias, Simoes Conceicao, grandmother of the child and the wife of Joseph Rock.
Following the indications of the child population of New Bridge went in search of the mine. "He could not say for sure the site and it took us about an hour to find Joseph Rock", said José Barbosa, father of the little hero, "a guardian angel," as yesterday was repeatedly dubbed.
After hitting the ground, was Jose Barbosa (father) who found the mine. "He was down there, full of pain but conscious," said Jose Barbosa, who triggered the means of relief.Minor injuries
"The INEM and the police were the first to arrive and cordoned off the site preparing the rescue of my husband," said Simoes Conceicao, who lamented the delay of Sapper Fireman Braga. "It took an hour to get here," he said.
The truth is that the rescue was executed in a fast, safe and effective. Yet the Breakers Braga bemoan the fact that no adequate material for this kind of help. "There is a Garibalde (structure with capacity to accommodate a person in order to be lifted) in the enterprise, so we had to improvise with some stairs in order to make a point of safety for hoisting and lowering a rope you," said a source Sappers Firemen of Braga.
