Hoje com 95 anos, o conceituado cientista, que já publicou centenas de artigos científicos e escreveu 22 livros (de autoria própria ou em parceria), em entrevista ao jornal "The Australian", publicada na quinta-feira (17), explicou que em virtude "da explosão demográfica e do consumo desenfreado" a humanidade não será capaz de sobreviver.

Today at 95 years, the renowned scientist, who has published hundreds of scientific articles and wrote 22 books (authored own or in partnership), in an interview with The Australian newspaper, published on Thursday (17), explained that in because "the population explosion and unrestrained consumption of" humanity will not be able to survive.

A declaração foi feita durante uma rara ocasião em que Fenner, Membro da Academia Australiana de Ciência e da Sociedade Real, se dispôs a falar com a imprensa.

 The Australian newspaper notes that Fenner's opinion is shared by other scientists, but drowned in the discussion among researchers who believe and those who are skeptical about climate change.

     The species Homo sapiens will become extinct, possibly within 100 years. A lot of other animals will be too. It is an irreversible situation. I think it's too late. I try not to comment on this because people are trying to do something.

Na semana que vem Fenner fará a abertura do simpósio sobre Clima, Planeta e Pessoas Saudáveis, na Academia Australiana de Ciência. Em 1980, durante uma Assembleia Geral da Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU), foi ele quem anunciou a erradicação global da varíola, única doença a ser considerada erradicada em todo o mundo.

18 years have passed since the United Nations world conference in Brazil in 1992 even if nothing has changed the nations are not doing anything to help children who are starving out there in the world people who are helping are people who are working and have something in the heart. these politicians are not even there only think in their pockets. talk and easy, and so that more politicians than workers, but will rise when a politician who works for the good of all? democracy was invented over 2000 years and still there was no honest politician and that helps is good will the people and the planet.
