Segundo a revista britânica Nature, os pênis humanos já tiveram espinhos. O estudo foi realizado pelas universidades americanas de Stanford, Georgia e Pensilvânia. A pesquisa indica que o mesmo mecanismo molecular que fez o homem perder os espinhos do pênis também teria levado ao crescimento do cérebro masculino.

 

Segundo os cientistas, os espinhos dos pênis humanos tinham dupla função: dar mais sensibilidade ao homem no ato sexual e remover o esperma de rivais que tivessem copulado anteriormente com aquela fêmea. Os espinhos eram pequenas estruturas flexíveis de queratina, mas, machucavam as mulheres das cavernas. A evolução foi providencial.
